Strengthening communities through data

“Cheralynn has been a pleasure to work with: professional, prepared, skilled and highly engaged. Over the past year we’ve worked elbow to elbow on a complex evaluation of a philanthropic initiative aimed a rural community building. This work included it all: stakeholder listening that led to the co-design of data collection tools; conducting interviews to gather a variety of perspectives, producing high-quality data summaries and visualizations; and leading engaging meaning making sessions with different groups. Thanks to these efforts and Cheralynn, we feel more connected with our community partners and better positioned for positive impact.”

-Max Gimbel, Director of the Ford Institute for Rural Community Building, The Ford Family Foundation

“Our organization is at a critical stage of growth in using our data to inform program work and articulate our impact across all departments. Working with Cheralynn to design a dynamic staff training was a key step in building our organizational capacity for understanding and analyzing different types of data. She took the time to understand our unique needs and coached me in creating materials that were educational, inclusive, and action-oriented. Her ability to ask thoughtful questions, give direct feedback, and offer creative solutions makes her a great coach and consultant. Cheralynn provided the tools and structure I needed to plan, practice, and implement a great "Don't Fear the Data" workshop that left attendees wanting more! We are proud to say that staff at all levels are becoming more confident in using data in their work and we've got more trainings in the pipeline.”

-Lauren Wagner, Associate Director of Research, Data & Evaluation, Children's Council of San Francisco

“Ms. Corsack was instrumental in conducting a multi-year research project with the State of California. Among other vital components, this project required face to face interaction and data collection with parents and caretakers of the children of California Welfare Department (CWD) clients in the field. These CWD settings can be fraught with complexities and required an approach both caring and understanding but also focused on acquiring the data required for proper research findings. Ms. Corsack not only developed and administered the survey instruments that captured parents' and caretakers’ experiences with this particular intervention, she was commended by County staff for her professionalism and tact in completing data collection while respecting the CWD staff needs.

Ms. Corsack also explained the research to audiences unfamiliar with research methodology, and her easy, but obviously expert, manner helped us recruit additional partners that will allow us to expand this pilot project and offer this important intervention to California’s deserving families.”
